Showing that true love is undeterred by long distance, Lada and Andy each crossed an ocean to find one another. Lada’s family was originally from Baku in Azerbaijan and had traveled 6,700 miles to settle in Salt Lake City. Andy lived in England, and in 2010 found himself assigned to a company branch at the foot of the Wasatch mountains in Utah where Lada was employed. Andy found her reserved elegance irresistible and was crestfallen when she told him she’d be transferring to New York City to accept a new job.
It’s said that absence diminishes small loves and increases great ones. Andy knew he’d have to follow Lada, and this time, crossed a continent to be with her. They wedded at St. Vartan’s Cathedral in midtown Manhattan, and celebrated with a lovely reception at the Battery Gardens with its beautiful view of the Hudson River’s upper bay. Their honeymoon took them across an ocean and a continent once more, this time together, to South Africa and Tanzania.
You may remember Lada and Andy from their romantic Central Park engagement session.
Lada and Andy arranged for a double-decker bus to transport their wedding guests from the Cathedral down to Battery Park at the tip of Manhattan.
